In this sequence, Ashuraman remembers the moment Samson Teacher saved him from a raging river, one of the key scenes explaining the bond between the young Ashuraman and the teacher who taught him compassion.

This unusually complete production set includes three original hand-drawn production douga from the flashback sequence, plus one studio-stamped Xerox production reference sheet. The drawings preserve camera framing, action notes, coloured pencil shading and production annotations. The Xerox sheet is a studio production copy, clearly stamped XEROX ONLY, and is included as part of the original studio documentation for the sequence.
