Original hand-painted Japanese animation production artwork from My Father’s Dragon (エルマーの冒険 / Erumā no Bōken, 1997), the theatrical adaptation of Ruth Stiles Gannett’s classic children’s book.

This set features Elmer Elevator together with the rhinoceros in a clear story moment from the film. The image reads as a complete feature-film scene rather than a simple isolated portrait.

The set includes the original production cel and two matching dougas, making it a more complete surviving production set from the late cel era.

Production context: directed by Masami Hata, a veteran of Mushi Production, Sanrio feature animation and Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland; character design by Shūichi Seki of World Masterpiece Theater fame; screenplay by Kenji Terada; supervising animation direction by Yutaka Arai; and art direction by Minoru Nishida. The film was produced by Aubec and released theatrically by Shochiku.
