Monkey Punch (1984) – Lupin III – Original Signed Shikishi Drawing with Certificate

Monkey Punch, Lupin III, 1984

An original illustrated and signed shikishi attributed to Monkey Punch (Kazuhiko Katō, 1937–2019), the creator of Lupin III. Executed in vivid blue ink on a traditional Japanese presentation board, the drawing captures Lupin’s distinctive face, long chin and wide brimmed hat in a few confident, economical lines.

Unlike an animation production cel, a shikishi is an independent drawing on board. The artist’s signature, handwritten dedication and date are visible alongside the portrait. The date is catalogued as 1984 based on the supplied attribution; the inscription should be examined directly for full verification.

Accompanied by a Japanese certificate of authenticity, shown in the photographs.  The board exhibits visible age related spotting and discolouration, particularly on the reverse, as documented.
