Description

Urusei Yatsura (Lum) – “A Bigger Splash” (Cherry Running Away) – Original Production Anime Cel + Douga (Studio Deen, 1981–1986)

This original hand-painted production cel features the eccentric monk Cherry (Sakura's uncle) in a comedic fleeing moment from the Urusei Yatsura episode “A Bigger Splash” — a classic scene capturing the series’ trademark blend of chaos, humor, and slapstick energy.

The cel comes with its matching douga (original pencil drawing) and showcases the expressive animation style that defined the show. This episode, like many from the series, was brought to life by Studio Deen with direction from Mamoru Oshii, who gave the series a surreal tone that made it a cult hit.

Based on Rumiko Takahashi’s manga, Urusei Yatsura remains a landmark in anime history, blending sci-fi and romantic comedy with absurd, unforgettable characters like Lum and Cherry.

A fantastic cel for collectors of vintage anime and fans of classic 1980s Japanese animation.
