Description

High School! Kimengumi: Gō Reietsu Sleeping Production Cel + Dōga (Studio Comet, 1985–1987)
An original hand-painted production cel paired with its matching pencil dōga, showcasing Gō Reietsu, the formidable yet endearing second-in-command of the Kimengumi, in a rare moment of repose. Known for his boisterous personality and unwavering loyalty, Gō's character adds depth and humor to the series. This cel captures a tranquil scene, offering a glimpse into the more subdued side of his character.

High School! Kimengumi (ハイスクール!奇面組) is a comedic anime series that aired from 1985 to 1987, adapted from Motoei Shinzawa's manga serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1982 to 1987. Produced by Studio Comet and directed by Hiroshi Fukutomi, the series is renowned for its eccentric characters and slapstick humor. Gō Reietsu, voiced by Tesshō Genda, is depicted as a hearty and occasionally inebriated youth who, despite his rough exterior, is deeply kind-hearted and protective of his friends.

This cel and dōga set is a delightful artifact from the golden age of hand-drawn anime, capturing the unique charm and humor that High School! Kimengumi is celebrated for.
