Original hand-painted Japanese animation production cel of Chairman Brane from Black Jack: The Movie (1996), the theatrical feature directed by Osamu Dezaki, with character design and animation direction by Akio Sugino.

This is a striking large-format composition, with Chairman Brane extending across almost the full width of the cel. The strong three-quarter portrait, dramatic pose and rich burgundy, green and blue palette give the piece an especially graphic presence.

The set includes the matching production drawing (douga), preserving the original relationship between the animator’s drawing and the final painted cel. The douga retains visible studio markings, colored-pencil construction lines and production wear, including paint transfer and surface traces consistent with original studio use.
